It’s the “mane” event! Hang out with Daniel and discover what incredible adventures he had as a captive in Babylon!

June 4-8      8:30-11:30 each morning

The lion’s den, the firey furnace… you’ll have a roaring good time learning about Daniel!

Children’s Choir will present the musical “It All Happened In The City” in a Dinner Theater setting at the FLC March 25th, 5:30 pm. You are encouraged to come and bring your favorite ‘kid friendly’ finger foods, sandwhiches, and snacks. The church will provide the paper products and drinks. Please support our children as they are telling the story of what happened to Jesus as He made His way to Jerusalem to be crucified for us. Celebrate with them as they tell about the first Easter Sunday when the tomb was empty!

A community wide Easter Egg Hunt will be held at City Park March 24th at 10 am. Crafts, food, games, and activities to help families discover the true meaning of Easter will be shared with everyone who comes. We need lots of helpers! Last year over 90 children participated in this event and everybody had a great time. Each child took home a coloring book that told the story of how our Lord rose from the grave on that first Easter Sunday morning!

Sundays at 6pm  join us to work on “It All Happened In The City.”  This is an Easter Musical that is a sequal to our just completed Christmas Musical “It All Happened in The Country.” There is a place for you in Children’s Choir!

Special kids activities during the first half of the big game. Children will be with the whole church in the worship area of the REC at 4:30pm, Sunday, February 5th, and will have games and activities following the mealtime. There will be soup, finger foods, and deserts for the whole church family. Some kids will be into watching the game, and that’s cool. Others will not really care that much about it, but they will have plenty to do, too. Don’t forget to bring canned goods for Brother’s Keeper!

Angel Tree Gifts

Thanks to all of you who took the names of children who were in need of a little help with their Christmas. I know the parents really appreciated it. The various gifts were purchased and delivered on time so that all the kids will have a very special Christmas. God bless you!

What a wonderful Children’s musical! Thanks to all who helped pull it together. The kids did a fantastic job! Special thanks to Angie Pounds for set design and construction. It even did double duty for the deacon banquet!

An Evening In Bethlehem

An Evening In Bethlehem

Thank you to all who helped make this such a wonderful time for children and families. There were opportunities to make special Christmas gifts that put you right in the heart of the story; leather crafts, woodworking, apothecary, incense candles, and the chance to taste the foods of the Middle East. “Bethlehem” means “House of Bread,” and we sampled some pita bread with humus, and had cucumbers and goat cheese. The smells, and tastes,  and sights, and sounds of the marketplace helped you get the feel of what it might have been like that night so long ago when Mary & Joseph came in response to the decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. Thankfully, we did not have to hear the words, “No room in the inn.” Everybody was able to make a candle, or compound some insense, and there was plenty of food to taste. We  heard the Christmas story like never before!
